Most welcome. IMO, it speaks to Dave Taylor’s production chops that over the past 10yrs or so I’ve returned to his Switch/Solid Groove tracks regularly, but - no shade intended - I haven’t listened to a single Sinden or Crookers track/remix in that time. Now you’ve revealed Taylor’s role in Chaka Khan’s Like Sugar production to me, it makes total sense why I love that track - & now love the remix.
Great recap & respects paid to an unsung producer. I’d guess loads of people today solely credit Diplo for the MIA hits. Back in the 00’s I had a similar re-sparking of interest in house music due to This Is Sick & A Bit Patchy, & can attest that these were very effective DJ tools for the dance floor. Spot on w/ comparison to AVH re: ear for a sample and excellent remix skills. Despite (at the project’s inception) Major Lazer’s genre mashing Venn diagram closely resembling my own tastes, I lost most of my interest after Dave Taylor stepped back from the group & Diplo took it in a different direction.
thank you! I am so pleased to see other Switch fans respond to this! And very glad to see someone had a similar experience to mine in the 2000s. The AVH comparison only occured this week - but it does really make sense to me. BTW if you haven't heard the new Chaka Khan remix, do check it out. Switch at this best.

Thanks for bringing that to my ears!
